Hi Robert:

I guess Emacs 23.x does not have that function.  Maybe you can just
grab compile.el from Emacs 24.x...

compilation--ensure-parse is an autoloaded compiled Lisp function in
`compile.el'.

Or better yet, upgrade to Emacs 24.x
