question about using Splus in emacs

Thank you for helping me out! However, when I use M-x S+elsewhere, a shell
comes out, with the name *S+3*, instead of a Splus window. Do you know
what's the problem? Also how to specify the version of Splus you want to
use if there are two or more versions available elsewhere? Thanks!
