[ESS-bugs] C-u C-u C-y is eating the "+" character

did you first mark a region in the *R* buffer?
You must have done something in the *R* buffer, otherwise
yanking in the *.R buffer has no effect, right?

You as ESS core member are using an ESS version which is so much outdated?

well, you have the SVN version of ESS to work with - as an ESS
core member, I'd say...
