[ESS-bugs] Xemacs initialization bug

I requested that IT install Xemacs because I used it in the past. I read the note that you included, and so I also ordered Emacs to be installed because it may work better with ESS. But IT takes several days, and I already have Xemacs, and I have work to do -- so I am doing what I can with what I've got. It's a bank, and I don't have admin rights.

I am open for advice in order to get ESS running OK.
