Actually, I think, that's expected.  All I was trying to ascertain was
whether it was executable, and, apparently, it is.  So, your problem is
that sas is not found in your PATH when you are using emacs.  Is it in
your PATH at the command line?

Ha!  I'm really showing how novice I am at this. :)  Sorry, but thanks
for sticking with me!

Does this answer your question about SAS being in my PATH at the command
line?
