Hmmm.  I just set up a PC for our med students.  And, when I do this, I 
get a different problem.
M-x R can't find R.  But, then I go through the menu that finds Other 
installations and it seems
to find C:\Program Files\R\R-2.3.0\bin\rterm.exe, but there is something 
wrong.  It seems to
think that it is at C:\Program Files\RR-2.3.0\bin\rterm.exe.  Also, 
there must be some other
problem since it is interpreting \b as backspace.  I'm looking at the 
code for ess-find-rterm
in essd-r.el, but I don't see how this is happening.  Could this be a 
related bug?
