Problem: Starting SAS mode in an Emacs in non-window mode yields the error
message
Wrong type argument: symbolp, ""
(command to test: emacs -nw test.sas). This results in no buffer being
openend. Repeating the command opens the buffer, but does not enable
font-lock mode. If I change my .emacs to disable font-lock the error does not
occur. If I (in a SAS buffer) disables and then enables font-lock-mode, the
error is repated.
Platform:
GNU Emacs 21.2.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars) of
2002-08-29 on astest
Using Ess-5.2.0beta2
History: A couple of months ago I discovered a font-lock problem when running
Emacs in -nw mode (or through a terminal), using Ess-5.1.24. This was
communicated to AJ. Rossini who found a bug in the font-lock definitions of
the SAS mode. Apparently a fix has been made, because the error message has
changed from something regarding font-lock variables to the error above. My
guess is that there is a small error in the bug-fix?
