Bioinformatics programmer, data manager, and analyst

The Spellman and Gray labs in the Life Sciences Division at Lawrence
Berkeley National Lab in Berkeley CA seek a data curator. The
individual will be responsible for working with scientists to manage
and analyze Affymetrix microarray data and Drug Response data. The
position is adaptable to the skills of the appropriate applicant.

Our current microarray workflow system is home-brewed and implemented
in PostgreSQL, R/Bioconductor, Java, Unix, and Perl. The ideal
candidate will understand at least some of these tools and be able to
quickly pick up the rest. You should also have a desire to do both
infrastructural programming and basic statistical analysis for our
biologists. Familiarity with biological data types is necessary, and
experience with microarrays is a substantial plus.

This position can begin immediately. For more information, two
official job descriptions are available -- for software developers,
<http://jobs.lbl.gov/LBNLCareers/details.asp?jid=20097&p=1>, and for
biologists, <http://jobs.lbl.gov/LBNLCareers/details.asp?jid=20096&p=1>.
