Apply for an Affymetrix Postdoctoral Fellowship and move your
out-of-the-box ideas into reality.

Now, your spirit and vision could earn you a position alongside the
inventors of microarray technologies at Affymetrix. You'll collaborate with
some of the brightest genomic minds to bring your radical, worthy ideas to
life, using next-generation technologies available only at Affymetrix.

A grant-supported post-doctoral position is available in the
Bioinformatics group located in Emeryville, CA. In this role, you will
perform statistical analysis of expressed regions of the human transcriptome
including the testing of biological hypotheses, development and calculation
of performance metrics in control regions, collection of summary measures of
transcript prevalence and comparison of transcriptional and annotation-based
maps. Develop novel approaches for comparing and summarizing maps based upon
multiple cell lines/tissues and different methods of sample preparation and
signal analysis. Position is based in Emeryville. Travel of approximately 1
day per week to Santa Clara, CA may be required.
Ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Statistics, Computer Science,
Mathematics or a Physical Science with a strong background in the
development and application of data analysis in the field of molecular
biology or genomics, microarray analysis, application of statistical methods
and programming. Experience programming in Perl, S, S-plus or R in a
Linux/Unix environment is desired. Strong analytical skills, communication
skills and familiarity with microarray literature are needed.
This is a two year grant funded position with potential for renewal.
