[Bioc-devel] Question on package update and version bump

Once your package was accepted it is no longer built on demand and no longer in the github submission queue.  It is added to the daily builder. Depending if it is a software or an other type of package it can be built daily to once or twice a week. see the schedule on the build report front page:

That being said it looks like you pushed Friday. It should have been reflected in Saturday's report since you made the change before the daily pull of package.  However it looks like we had issues with builds over the weekend and saturday's report did not post.  You can check the date of the report at the top of the build page (for either release or devel)

Yes we recommend only pushing changes to devel branch. Release is meant to be stable and only include a bug fix or bug correction.  New features or updates should only be applied to devel.  If your change was a bug correction you will need to push to the RELEASE_3_15 branch.  See the git help page for this if appropriate:

  I am writing to inquire the process of package update and version bump. I submitted updated package DegNorm with a version bump to 1.7.1 last Thursday and wonder about the status of it. My understanding is that usually I should receive an email notice about the status of it. I didn�t find my package listed there? Is there anything wrong? Or the procedures have been changed?

In addition, my understanding is that my push is to the development repository. When or how these changes will be made to the release version of the package?
