Dear Colleagues:

May Institute on Computation and Statistics for Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics, taking place on May 3 May 14, 2021 on the Boston campus of Northeastern University (online), is now accepting applications.

The program includes tutorials and practical hands-on sessions, presenting open-source data processing tools (Skyline) and statistical analysis tools (R, Bioconductor and MSstats). Instructors are leading experts, who contributed numerous computational methods and software. The presentations are integrated to focus on analyses of several well-chosen datasets. Together we will take an in-depth look into case studies of design and analysis of mass spectrometry-based experiments.

The program also includes keynotes from young investigators, and a "Future developers meeting", that brings together developers (and aspiring developers) of computational tools for mass spectrometry and proteomics. Presentations in the meeting will be selected from the participants' abstracts. We invite you to submit an abstract and present your research.

Week 1:
* Keynote, Brian Searle: Introduction to DIA
* Tutorial, Lindsay Pino: Introduction to DIA proteomics with Skyline
* Hands-on, Brendan MacLean: Part 1: Skyline processing of proteome-wide DIA of a controlled mixture
* Hands-on, Brendan MacLean: Part 2: Skyline-based comparison of refined versus proteome-wide queries of DIA experiments
* Keynote, Lindsay Pino: Beyond abundance: dynamic quantitative proteomics using Skyline
* Keynote, Isabell Bludau: Expanding the scope of DIA analyses to protein complexes and proteoforms
* Hands-on, Ryan Benz: Part 1: Introduction to R for beginners
* Hands-on, Ryan Benz: Part 2: Introduction to R for beginners

Week 2:
* Tutorial, Kylie Bemis: Intermediate R crash course for MS practitioners
* Tutorial, Olga Vitek: Introduction to statistical methods and MSstats
* Hands-on, Meena Choi and Brendan MacLean: Analysis of data in Skyline Part 1 and Part 2 in MSstats, and comparison of the results
* Tutorial, Mateusz Staniak and Olga Vitek: Introduction to MSstats ecosystem and MSstatsTMT
* Hands-on, Ting Huang and Mateusz Staniak: Use cases of MSstatsTMT
* Keynote. Laurent Gatto: Reproducible MS-based research
* Tutorial, Nuno Bandeira and Meena Choi. Reproducible reporting and reanalysis of quantitative experiments with MassIVE.quant
* Future Bioconductor package developers meeting: contributed talks
