Yes in your devel branch please use 99 as the y value (of version number pkg_x.y.z) for an automatic x bump on the next release.

Subject: [Bioc-devel] A question about version number

Hi to all,

I have started to apply fundamental changes to my package (cbaf).
As a result, I think it is reasonable that the next stable release becomes version 2.0.0.
The current version of my devel package is 1.7.2.
If Im not mistaken, I should change the version to 1.99.0 with the next push. Right?

Best regards,
Arman
