Dear Bioc-devel members,

We are very pleased to announce our Bioconductor package : SICtools (http://bioconductor.org/packages/3.2/bioc/html/SICtools.html <http://bioconductor.org/packages/3.2/bioc/html/SICtools.html>), which is to find snp/indel differences between two bam files in a near relationship.

Basically, it will scan each base position across a given region of your interest, and uses both fisher.exact test and Euclidean distance to detect allele differences of SNP (A,T,C and G) and Indel (read count for each allele types) between two bam files in a pair-wise way. SICtools is accurate and precise, very good at reducing false positives and friendly use (http://bioconductor.org/packages/3.2/bioc/vignettes/SICtools/inst/doc/SICtools.pdf).

You are always welcome to use it and report any bug to us (xiaobinxing0316 at gmail.com).

Best regards,

Xiaobin Xing and Wu Wei
