[Bioc-devel] Version numbers for your packages

Hello BioC package maintainers,

I want to remind you all of the version number policy:

   http://wiki.fhcrc.org/bioc/Version_Numbering_Standards

Packages that are in the BioC 2.0 release need not take any action; we
will do the version number bumping as part of the release process.

Newly contributed packages must have either:

  1) a version number >= 1.1.0

OR

  2) a version number >= 0.99.0

Option #2 is preferred for new packages because we will bump to 1.0.0
for the release. Option #1 is fine, but such packages will go to
1.2.0 for release and 1.3.0 for the subsequent devel cycle.

Please post to bioc-devel with questions if you are at all unsure.

Thanks,

+ seth
