Christian Kerkhoff

Status

I am doing a PhD with Hansruedi Künsch on advanced statistical methods applied to climate science. I received a Diploma in Meteorology from the University of Bonn in collaboration with the National Center of Atmospheric Research (Boulder, CO) in 2009.

Research Interest

I am working on bias assumptions for large climate data archives (multi model ensembles). These assumptions are an important but often neglected source of uncertainty in climate change projections. Using Bayesian inference I am deriving coherent probabilistic projections of climate change making use of advanced Markov Chain Monte Carlo techniques. Furthermore, I am interested in spatial statistics and spatio-temporal methods.
