ABSTRACT
To unlock innovation in the life science space, sharing data among public and private institutions is critical. Data sharing can be executed in various forms, from centralizing data where one brings all data into a single location, to decentralized data sharing where data remains at the institution but insights are developed together such as in federated learning. With a diversity of approaches and tools available, it is not always easy to create a fit for purpose solution for a specific data sharing situation at hand. The seminar aims to provide practical guidance to select a possible data sharing approach for a given problem statement. Statistical, technological, legal and policy considerations will be discussed for a spectrum of data sharing approaches by academic, industry and regulatory experts in the field of data sharing.
