The position
As a biostatistician you join a small statistical consulting and data analysis team in R&D in Kaiseraugst, near Basel.
The Challenge

  *   Contribute your expertise within various project teams in order to improve nutrition and health in humans and animals with our products
  *   Give advice on statistical methods and help to optimize the design of studies such that resources are invested wisely and meaningful results can be obtained
  *   Conduct statistical data analyses for a wide variety of research questions
  *   Provide visualization, reporting and interpretation to project teams
  *   Critically review, evaluate and interpret internal and external data analyses
  *   Conduct meta-analyses on internal and external data for decision making, product differentiation, and publication
  *   Ensure compliance with statistical requirements of the authorities where needed
  *   Participate in collaborations with external partners on a global basis (universities, non-governmental organizations and customers)
 Your Profile

  *   You have an MSc or PhD in statistics or a related field, or equivalent qualifications and/or experience
  *   Ideally, you also have 2+ years of practical experience applying statistics in a life science environment
  *   You have solid knowledge of standard statistical methods and enthusiasm to explore new methods
  *   You are an experienced R user (our main platform). Ideally you also have a working knowledge of SAS, SPSS or STATA
  *   Fluency in English is required. German or French would be an advantage
  *   You are a team-player who is able to communicate effectively with non-statisticians and who thrives in an open and collaborative R&D environment
  *   You like applied statistics, you are curious about the goals and the context of projects, and you enjoy to contribute to solid decision-making
  *   You appreciate variety and are able to set priorities
  *   Experience with any of the following is an advantage:
     *   statistical consulting, design of experiments, teaching statistics, visualization
     *   clinical, agricultural, and/or observational studies, systematic reviews, epidemiology
     *   meta-analysis, data analysis of longitudinal, multivariate and/or omics data
     *   nutrition, medicine, biology, chemistry
