We are looking for a data scientist/statistician (80%-100%) to join the Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS)
at the University Hospital of Basel, Switzerland.

The Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS) is a nation-wide prospective multi-site cohort study funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The primary objective of the STCS is the provision of long-term high-quality data for clinical research and monitoring to improve the quality of care for organ recipients in all transplantation clinics in Switzerland.

The STCS seeks a

Data scientist / statistician (80 - 100%)

The position is located at the Data Centre of the STCS at the University Hospital Basel. He or she will closely collaborate with the STCS statisticians, the central data managers, the epidemiologist/ coordinator and the Executive Office of the STCS.
Job description
�        Strong focus on bio-medical statistical analysis and data processing to support the STCS and STCS research groups in the conduct of scientific projects (�STCS nested projects�)
�        Contribution to the ongoing development and operation of the STCS reporting tools in R and LateX
�        Processing of various short data analysis requests
�        Support the core data management facilities in the definition and set-up of a growing repository of pre-built analysis tables
�        Support the core data management facilities for the definition of data queries and the data query process
�        Support development and implementation of database applications

Required skills
�        Master�s degree or PhD in biostatistics, bio-informatics or related area
�        Programming skills in statistical software and good knowledge of data processing and modelling
�        Self-contained, motivated functioning and interest in clinical science
�        Clinical research experience and application of health economic methods is of advantage
�        Very good communication skills, fluency in English; enjoys to closely collaborate in small teams. Open to discuss and implement new developments
�        Flexible to collaborate in a complex project and to manage a variety of responsibilities in a rapidly developing multi-site cohort study
