SALARY RANGE:
80'000-95'000 CHF (77'000-90'000 Euros) / Per Year

POSITION INFORMATION:
Full Time – 3 years
Post-doctoral researcher/research assistant depending on qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:
The Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (Lausanne University Hospital, Lausanne, Switzerland) is looking for a statistician or a post-doctoral researcher who will join a group working on social and lifecourse epidemiology within the Division of Chronic Diseases. The selected candidate will specifically work on a project on lifecourse biological pathways underlying social differences in healthy ageing, funded through a Horizon 2020 grant, and involving 16 European and international partners. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Stringhini and Prof. Murielle Bochud.

DUTIES:
The candidate will:
- Perform quantitative analysis using population-based longitudinal data involving multiple European cohorts.
- Analyse large, multi-dimensional datasets of omics data (genetic, epigenetic and transciptomics).
- Serve as an expert and advisor in statistical and epidemiological methods within the team and provide statistical and technical support with respect to use and selection of appropriate statistical modeling approaches.
- Disseminate results through research articles and presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory
- Master or PhD in Statistics, Statistical Genetics, Medical Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
- In-depth understanding of statistical concepts.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills.
- Experience in managing and analysing longitudinal and large datasets.
- Experience of using standard statistical software, including Stata and/or R.
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Ability and interest to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable
- Working knowledge of genetics, preferably in relation to chronic disease epidemiology.
- Experience in genetic and biomarkers analysis.
- Fluency in French.
