The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (www.sakk.ch) is Switzerland’s national cancer research network. Established as a non-profit organization, we have been conducting clinical studies in oncology since 1965. Through our activities we contribute to the development of new cancer treatments and the improvement of existing treatment methods. 

We are looking for a committed and responsible biostatistician to join our team immediately or by agreement as

Head of Statistics Unit in Clinical Research 80 - 100 % (f/m)

Your tasks: You will be responsible for leading the Statistics Unit consisting of six biostatisticians and for the planning, analysis, reporting and publication of clinical studies. You will develop, assist and advise your team. As a member of internal and external committees, you will represent the SAKK’s statistical activities. You will approve the documents (such as analysis plans, interim reports and final reports) prepared by the team biostatisticians for release and assure consistency and quality that comply with applicable standards and internal guidelines. Your unit will work actively with the recently created executive office of the Senior Statistical Advisor with the aim of implementing applied statistical research projects.

About you: You should have management experience, strong motivation and a keen sense of responsibility. Alongside an MSc or PhD in statistics (or equivalent qualification) you should be familiar with SAS and S-Plus (or R) and have at least five years experience in designing and analysing Phase I-III clinical trials. You must be able to communicate appropriately with statisticians and medics and can write and speak English fluently. Experience of teamwork and project management will enhance your qualification.
