Open position at the Bioinformatics Core Facility
(Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Lausanne)

A full-time position is available immediately at
the Bioinformatics Core Facility and for an
initial duration of about 16 months.

You will be in charge of applied project-related
data analysis, typically for data mining
microarray gene expression data and quantitative
phenotypic variables in search of significant
associations and the development of
classification and prediction functions.

The ideal candidate has an advanced degree (PhD
or equivalent) in natural or computer sciences,
mathematics or engineering. The position requires
an analytical mind, the ability to exchange ideas
with specialists in different areas and good
English communication skills in oral and written
form. Expertise in statistical data analysis and
programming (R, C, perl), microarray-based
research and bioinformatics are highly
appreciated.

The selected candidate should be able to work
independently, develop own approaches, while
being equipped with an exquisite team spirit and
glad of serving a given set of project objectives.

We offer the possibility to work in the
environment of the Swiss Institute of
Bioinformatics (SIB). SIB is a world-class
institute for the application of computer
sciences to biology. The BCF team has wide
experience in the analysis of high throughput
data in a biomedical context. The collaborative
and supportive atmosphere at SIB and BCF will
help the selected candidate to fulfill the
mission.

The position will be occupied as soon as possible.
