Philippe, I think the changes to the start page and the sidebars are
improvements. Thank you.

Also, I'd encourage you and others who have the privedge of attending
UseR!2006 to "talk up" the Wiki. In other words, be vocal proponents about
it & encourage others to participate.

Thanks!

~Nick

Subject: [R-wiki] Clean up of the Wiki and new navigation sidebars

Hello all,

Really sorry for the short time that remains before we officially launch
the R Wiki (at UseR!2006, that is, this week!)

I have been working hard this week-end to clean up the Wiki. I also had
to reorganize some pages. So, if you don't find one of your pages, it is
because it was relocated into a more suitable section (according to the
organization we decided). Look at the "recent changes" or "search" to
spot it.

A big issue that I had also to solve is to find a better navigation
system than the buggy index in the sidebar. So, there is a big change in
this aspect. Please, try the new navigation pages/sidebars, and comment
on it. However, I will not been able to discuss much, nor to make deep
changes before the symposium. Probably, the best would be to keep your
remarks for a live discussion with me at Vienna, for those who go there.

Regarding, the "wikified" version of the R documentation, the Rdconv
--wiki is now almost finished. I am too short to wikify the thousands of
R online help pages before the symposium, but that will done in the next
one or two months.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL COLLABORATORS: you all did a great job! My own
impression is that we have now a good basis of a R Wiki that is stable,
feature-rich, relatively well-organized, and ready to sustain grow
(hopefully) in the future.

Best,

Philippe Grosjean
