[R-wiki] R as a programming language

Ironically I have found R to be a challenge to learn partly because it
is quite different from more "familiar" programming languages, and I
have learnt quite a variety. I guess the other reason is because I know
so little about statistics.

I don't disagree with your suggestion but I find it is the nuances of R
that you just have to learn - the broad concepts aren't really a problem
for me personally. For example, having picked up a copy of MASS
recently, the diagram that shows how all the graphical parameters fit
together was worth a thousand posts on r-help.

Another area that a wiki would have helped for me is some tutorial style
material on the formula syntax and how it is used differently in
different contexts etc.

Of course I may not be your "target market" but that is my 2 cents worth.

cheers
