The UseR! Conference will be held in Ames, Iowa, at Iowa State University, on August 8-10 (http://user2007.org/). Dr. Amy Froelich and I are organizing a session on teaching statistics with R and are looking for one more speaker for the session. The theme of the session will be "Challenges and Opportunities for using R in Introductory and Intermediate Statistics". Invited talks will be given about half an hour to present. If you are interested, then please send me a tentative title and a (short) abstract. Thanks for your consideration. If you are not going to UseR! but are interested in this topic and plan to go to JSM 2008 (http://www.amstat.org/meetings/jsm/2008/), then please let us know that, too. If there is enough interest from potential speakers, then we will organize an invited session proposal for JSM 2008. Sincerely, Mike Larsen Michael D.
