[R-sig-phylo] Phylogenetic LDA alternatives?

Hello all,

Has anyone ever attempted a phylogenetic version of a linear
discriminant analysis (LDA) that would allow classification of new
specimens? If not, would it be possible to conduct some sort of
workaround—perhaps by performing an LDA on PICs? Such a test would be
extremely useful for ecomorphology.

Many thanks!
