[R-sig-ME] Repeated measures ANOVA using lmer, nlme, and geepack

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. Interestingly, the coefficients do not match (see below). 

Hopefully, someone won't mind explaining why.

If not, I may figure it out at some point. I've been reading Data Analysis using Regression and Multilevel/Hierarchical Models by Gelman and Hill. I'm getting aquainted with my new cartoon character friends Elmer (lmer) and Bugs, and at some point it may become clear what is going on. At the moment though, the whole thing seems a bit Looney Tunes.
