<p>Dear Teresa,</p>
<p>Please keep r-sig-meta in the loop.</p>
<p> I am assuming that you are not working directly with R (or
Rstudio). Instead you are working with wrapper (OpenMeta) or
Shinny app that work with R in the background. If you are working
with R, just change the UTF setting or even with the reading
function can be done. <br>
</p>
<p>So, please try to follow the instruction of this link <a
href="https://www.py4u.net/discuss/858888">https://www.py4u.net/discuss/858888</a>
to change your encoding (to UFT-8) default options in R, then
OpenMeta can work with R in a different default state.Does it
makes sense for you?</p>

<p>Dear Teresa,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>Usually, this type of problem are solved when you use the
right encoding for your language (Turkish is UTF-8) . Please
take a look of this: <a
href="https://support.rstudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/200532197-Character-Encoding-in-the-RStudio-IDE"

Not sure how to work this with an external wrapper software as
OpenMeta seems to work (I don't have previous experience in
OpenMeta, so I taking your word).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>May be, you can change the link function between OpenMeta and
R, or the default encoding of R. I think this also can be
helpful to understand how to change the default options from
the "root": <a href="https://www.py4u.net/discuss/858888"

<pre>I am working with the software OpenMeta Analyst (methods are implemented in R programming language) and everything analysis-rated has work out perfectly so far, but now I have an issue with entering author names that contain foreign characters such as the turkish c (ç). I am able to enter the names, but the letters are dropped in the respective forest plots.<o:p></o:p></pre>

<pre>Perhaps someone has worked with the software before and has advice for me. I am quite familiar with R and I know that there are some tricks how to make R accept foreign characters, but I am having trouble handling this in OpenMeta Analyst.<o:p></o:p></pre>
