[R-meta] N of trials or participants?

Dear Patrizio,

I don't really understand your question. With 'standardized effect sizes estimation', do you mean the calculation of an effect size like a standardized mean difference? If so, that is done for a trial/study, so how would the number of trials ever be relevant for this?
