Simon,
On your dynamic vs static linking comment (R-exts 5.8), is there anything
specific to MacOS that adds complexity, or is this generic to UNIX systems
that use the -rpath flag to hard-code the path into the executable? I
understand that there are potential versioning issues with the use of
shared libraries as well.
