[R-SIG-Mac] Using X11 from the mac terminal

In addition: Warning message:
In X11() : unable to open connection to X11 display ''

What am I doing wrong?  X11 is open, and I have

> Sys.getenv("DISPLAY")
[1] "0.0.0.0:0"

I'm sure this used to work, but something has changed in the last few
months.  Any ideas?
