[R-SIG-Mac] Small issue rendering on a Quartz device

Dear Steve,
I'm using R 2.9.2, but I've noticed this problem too, since I began using R last
year (i.e., maybe since R 2.7). I am using the R.app when I see this issue. I
just tell my students that it's a minor bug and we won't worry too much about it.
