At one time I did attempt to install from that version, but I more
recently followed your directions and installed from the CRAN 83-3
version. When I go to the Package Manager dialog, the help file
indicates that it is looking at rgl 83-3 (even if it won't load). On
the other hand, the Package Installer still says I have 83-751.
Looking at the installation log I see this line in your installation:
Installing to library ‘/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/
library’
I do not have that directory. I instead have
/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/Libraries ... and most of
the package information is in
/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/Versions/2.8/library
In that library I do find version 83-751
One other change that has appeared is that the icons on the PM pages
are now blue squares with "?" in them.
