[R-SIG-Mac] problems reinstalling R on Leopard

Please have a look at the console (Utilities->Console), it should give  
a hint as of why it doesn't start.

However, you may want to upgrade to (just released) R 2.6.1 which is  
now an official release that was tested on both Leopard and Tiger.
