[R-SIG-Mac] Problems with identify

it does Richard, but you don't get the visual feedback until the  
quartz window has been refreshed. And this happens as soon as the ESC  
key is pressed (and the process terminated).

I think we cannot fix it as far as I remember due to the way quartz  
is handled.
Simon, any thoughts?
