[R-SIG-Mac] install packages snafu

Ouch, then it's likely your ISP. You may want to check with your  
browser whether your ISP prevents you from using direct internet  
access. Another way to test it is to actually look at the file, e.g. try
download.file("http://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/universal/contrib/ 
2.4/PACKAGES","/tmp/test.html")
system("open /tmp/test.html")
If everything is fine, is should be a long list of packages (looks  
wild in the browser), but if my suspicion turns out to be true, it  
should be some website from your ISP.
