Known (see other posts here) and being worked on. Internally, the  
underlying document is never closed and yet it's not clear why.

Persistent font size is handled by Font->Bigger/Smaler (Cmd +/-), not  
by Cmd+T. For historical reasons this setting is global and set by  
the console (it dates back to the Aqua GUI). Possibly the whole font  
handling could use an overhaul, but for now it's a "feature" ;).
