Resizing fonts behaves unpredictably

To replicate:

 * open R
 * press apple-shift-+
 * font shrinks to tiny size
 * press apple-shift-+ ten more times
 * type license()
 * output is not the correct size 

What should happen:

 * pressing apple-shift-+ should always increase font size of both
input and output
