Thanks to Peter Macdonald, I fixed a serious bug that crashed the system under MacOS 8.6. Now it should work, and it is sufficient to replace the R binary with the one found at http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~iacus/R/R_86.hqx So now people with 8.6 machine should be able to test this version. Stefano
