[R-SIG-Mac]speed test

I would like to add that Bill Oliver got 31 seconds on his Dell
Dimension Pentium III 600 MHz,256 MB RAM running Windows 2000 and R
version 1.3. My result was done on R 1.3, Pentium III 600 MHz running
Win 98.I tried also on a Pentium III 700 Mhs labtop running WIN Me and
I got 49 seconds. So opertaing system seems to have a significant
impact.
