Postdoctoral Bioinformatics Research Scientist

Department of Oncology, Old Road Campus Research Building, Roosevelt 
Drive, Headington, Oxford

The Department of Oncology is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated 
postdoctoral Bioinformatics researcher with experience in NGS to work in 
research and development projects in the Applied Computational Genomics 
Group.

The Medical Sciences Division is an internationally recognised centre of 
excellence for biomedical and clinical research and teaching. The 
Department of Oncology, within the Medical Sciences Division, is a truly 
multidisciplinary and collaborative oncology research environment with 
world-leading programmes, housed in state-of-the-art facilities, which 
cover the full range of scientific endeavour from the molecule to the 
population. Working closely with colleagues in the new state-of-the-art 
NHS Oxford Cancer Centre, research can be rapidly and efficiently 
translated into cutting-edge clinical treatment for cancer patients.

You will work on exciting research projects in a multidisciplinary and 
collaborative research environment; and you will lead the development of 
computational tools and resources empowering cancer research.

You will have demonstrable experience with NGS analyses; be an expert 
user of statistical tools such as R; and fluent in at least one common 
programming language. Other essential requisite are: communication and 
inter-personal skills, and proven track record of presenting and 
publishing scientific results.
