An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Researcher -- 
Bioinformatics/Statistics to work on the data-mining and knowledge 
discovery components of the FP7 project "Enabling information re-Use by 
linking clinical REsearch and Care", EURECA 
(http://eurecaproject.eu/partners).  By generating a bench-to-bedside 
strategy, the EURECA project will aim to define and solve the necessary 
steps to achieve maximal health outputs for users, including patients, 
families, researchers, pharmaceutical industry and healthcare providers.

The post holder will be a key member of the Oxford component of the 
EURECA project. This post will be located at the Weatherall Institute of 
Molecular Medicineand the work will be carried out in close 
collaboration with the Department of Statistics.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent in 
Bioinformatics, Statistics or a related subject. A track record in 
development of data-mining solutions in a clinical 
research/pharmaceutical project or equivalent transferable experience is 
essential as is the ability to generate and critically review 
data-mining methodologies including reports and/or professional 
publications. Advanced presentation and publication skills as shown by 
international meetings and/or publication record and experience with 
statistics, data-mining and/or artificial intelligence methods applied 
to the analysis of high-dimensionality datasets is desirable.

This is a full-time post and is available until 31 July 2015 in the 
first instance.
