I have 2 positions open with a top pharmaceutical company in New Jersey.
This position is not requiring pharmaceutical experience as long as the
candidate has strong SAS and R experience. In particular they are looking
for strong graphics experience in S-Plus/R (lattice or Trellis¬TM graphics).
If you would like to learn more about this position please contact Christina
Kinchen at ckinchen using smithhanley.com or at 800-684-9921 ext 220.

The successful candidates' primary responsibility will be to create a suite
of validated, general-purpose programs for conducting pre-processing and
statistical analyses of clinical and biomarker data, including large-scale
genomic data. In many cases the core statistical methodology has already
been implemented for a specific analysis and needs to be generalized,
validated, and made more efficient.
A secondary responsibility is to assist statisticians in their analyses,
including such tasks as provisioning analysis-ready datasets, formatting
output, and generating figures and tables to meet precise requirements.
Experience in SAS programming related to clinical drug development. Able to
provide programming at the protocol and project level and contribute to
cross-functional teams consisting of statisticians, data managers,
clinicians and other computer programmers on drug development projects.
Academic training in computing or a scientific discipline; MS/A or
equivalent (at least 4 years relevant experience with demonstrated
experience processing data from multiple protocols). Demonstrated ability to
communicate ideas and some experience communicating to an audience through
various formats.

Programmers will support the Statistical Genetics and Biomarkers group in
the analysis of genetic, genomic, and biomarker data from clinical trials.
We prefer candidates to be proficient in both S-Plus/R and SAS programming,
but will consider having one position focused on S-Plus/R and the other on
SAS. All candidates should be proficient in programming, modular software
design, writing requirement specifications and validation, and must be able
to write clear and thorough program documentation. The ability to improve
and generalize existing systems of programs is essential. Must be able
fluently to understand and communicate in spoken and written English.

S-Plus/R expertise should include writing packages and methods
(object-oriented), lattice or Trellis¬TM graphics, importing and exporting
data, and using statistical functions.
SAS expertise should include dataset manipulation, macro programming, ODS
dataset output, importing and exporting data, and statistical procedures.
