[R-gui] visual programming on R

Hello,
One of my students is building a visual environment
for the package dprep
developed by my research group at the University of
Puerto Rico.
The environment will be in the style of the Orange and
Weka machine learning/data mining software.
She is using only the tools provided by tcl/tck
(active tcl).
I wonder if somebody else has built  such kind of
environment and which tools has used?
