A good solution could be using regression kriging with current altitude map as covariate.

Hi Loïc,“disaggregate”or “resample” functions of “raster” package use bilinear or nbg interpolation toreconstruct values in the new cells. I would apply to the nearby-reconstructedcells the same relationship found in the actual altitudinal map at the samelocation.I hope Iexplained it well. Dr. Francesco Carotenuto (Ph.D.)

You mean that it should use current elevation data like from e.g. SRTM?
Otherwise you may try disaggregate from the raster package.

Is there a way?Thank you,Francesco. Dr. Francesco Carotenuto (Ph.D.)
