[R-sig-Geo] Supplying a datatype argument to rasterEngine in spatial.tools

Thanks Jonathan for the updated version of spatial.tools - very useful
in my work. Is there way to pass a "datatype" argument (as for
writeRaster) to rasterEngine to specify the output datatype? I see
"dataType" linked under "See Also" in the help, but it is not
otherwise mentioned. I have tried adding it as an argument to
rasterEngine anyway, but it appears to be ignored. I am running
spatial.tools 1.3.8 on R 3.0.3.
