Hi Dominik,
a) It won't take you more than a few of lines to code the Cressman analysis in R. You just need to decide what metric to use for the weighting function [e.g. a distance-based exponential decay?]
b) Are you sure you want to use a Cressman analysis? It certainly is not the state-of-the-art in Data Assimilation
Regards,
Javier

Subject: [R-sig-Geo] cressman analysis
Are there any implementations in R of the Cressman interpolation?
https://nsidc.org/data/docs/daac/nsidc0033_arctic_water_vapor/cressman_equations.html
I haven't found anything via rseek or google.
Thanks Dominik
