[R-sig-Geo] Wrong layer names written with writeRaster() (package raster)

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my impression that GDAL does not
support names for bands; so there would be to directly write these via
(r)gdal. I am not sure if GeoTiff supports the concept. In the case of
ENVI, I suppose it would be possible to add the band names to the hdr
file; but the raster package currently does not do that.
