 Maybe, but even more people would have transferred files in general
to their iPads. A kml file is just a file.

 I would try:

 1. put it on a server that you can access from the iPad
 2. the good old 'email it to yourself' trick
 3. ummmmm some kind of file transfer thing
 4. doesn't an iPad have a USB socket for a memory stick?
 5. errr....
