[R-sig-Geo] 64-bit ncdf4 for Windows??

I need to work with some very large (>> 2 GB) files in ncdf4 format.  We
unsuccessfully attempted to build the 64-bit library, following Dave
Pierce's notes.  I'm wondering if anyone has cracked that nut, or has other
suggestions.  Installing Linux isn't an option.
