Last week we released a new version of the ARIS ASCII Grid Reader for ArcGIS
10.0: http://www.aris.nl/asciigridreader_arcgis
<http://www.aris.nl/asciigridreader_arcgis> The ASCII Grid Reader version
3.0 will do a direct read of ESRI ASCII GRID's in ArcCatalog and ArcMap with
small modifications to the strict ESRI ASCII GRID format like: Non-square
cell size by using keywords XCELLSIZE and YCELLSIZE Non-square cell size
by using keywords XDIM and YDIM Non-numeric Nodata value like "NULL",
"NA", "mv", "!", "-" Any order of the keywords in the header Comment
on the first lineAs soon as you load an ASCII GRID in ArcMap you can do most
operations possible on image/raster layers, like calculations and export to
a number of formats using standard ArcGIS functionality.Maybe this is a
solution for your problem.
